EDGERSTON WAR MEMORIAL (O/S NT 684 116)

Situated at the side of the busy A68 as it makes its way south to the Carter Bar (and England), the memorial sits on the opposite side of the road from the church and is easily overlooked.
Sadly, many of the nine names are becoming illegible:
