Date of Death: 28/11/1915
Regiment/Service: Royal Scots Fusiliers 11th Bn.
Grave Reference: K. 20.
Cemetery: GALSTON CEMETERY
Pte. David Hutchison died from injuries received in a serious road accident involving two motor vehicles on Friday, November 26th., 1915, at the crossroads at Duddingston Mill, Edinburgh.
C Company, 2-5th. R.S.F. (majority of those injured were from this unit).
Usual employment - Coal Miner.
His R.S.F. unit at the time was attached to the 11th Provisional Battalion and had been engaged in hut building at Duddingston. They were returning to billets at Musselburgh. Of the 26 soldiers admitted to hospital Pte Hutchison was one of nine men who sustained serious injuries.
He died at the 2nd. Scottish General Hospital, Craigleith, on Sunday 28th November.
He was 43 and left a widow and four children.

Wigtownshire Free Press (17/4/1941): By enemy action during March 1941, Driver William Tomlin, only son of Mr and Mrs Tomlin, Galston, Ayrshire, and beloved husband of Ina Diven, 6 Greenvale St, Stranraer.
