The only CWGC ref I can find for a Cpl. Samuel Thomson shows: 31 Base Supply Depot RASC. Since posting the above I have found a Corp. Thomas Thomson of the 52nd Reg Rec Corps RAC Died 19/2/1945 (age 25 - so DoB 1919ish) but also a birth record for Samuel Thomson 1919 at Dalbeattie. Nearest I can get is FANY so could it be a misprint and be First Aid Nursing Service (which didn't exist)?
