Thanks for all replies.
Adam I think you may have cracked it. Will take up your suggestion and try to trace a report of unveiling. |

The Gairloch Roll of Service has thrown up two abbreviations I can't work out. There is a little bit more information to give a clue but unfortunately no first names.
A.A.F. - I think this may be Australian or American
M.B.R - MMR was Mercantile Marine Reserve so it may be a variation of that? It is certainly naval give the ranks Our main list has a similar abbreviation B.M.R. which is unknown too.
Aultbea District
MACASKILL A. Private A.A.F.
MACASKILL A. Able Seaman M.B.R.
MACIVER D. Able Seaman M.B.R.
URQUHART M. Able Seaman M.B.R.
It also has this one which is a new one for out list - Deputy Assistant Director of Veterinary Services - D.A.D.V.S
Kinlochewe District
MACDONALD Duncan Major D.A.D.V.S.
Thanks
