William Somerville died on 24 May 1921 at his home 85 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh. He was 34 Years old and the son of Robert and Margaret Somerville. Cause of death: Pulmonary Phthisis.
His Pension Card states that he was discharged on 12 March 1919 with malaria and Pulmonary TB as a result of his military service. He was a driver with the Royal Engineers, service number 52655.
He is interred in North Merchiston Cemetery.
His case was forwarded to CWGC on 23 May. |

This one has been knocked back on the grounds that there was insufficient evidence to show that the casualty was discharged as a result of tuberculosis (only malaria listed on the discharge documents), which was the ultimate cause of death.
The pension card gave both malaria and TB as the causes of discharge, both attributable to service but the service papers only mention TB. |
