The kind of odd alphabetical sequence of the Patterson names
Jack Patterson, R. S.
William Patterson, G. H.
John Patterson, K. O. L. R.
George Patterson, R. H.
Henry Patterson, R. S.
Tom Patterson, R. S. F.

John, George, Henry and Tom were brothers.
Tom died in 1920 and there appears to be insufficient evidence to include him on the CWGC Register.
Jack (John) was a cousin - as was George Alfred Fisher, whose birth name was Patterson.
The relationship of William to the other Pattersons is still not clear.
I will post the details later.

The town of Gatehouse-of-Fleet was, in the main, the creation of a local land owner, James Murray, and developed on the banks of Fleet Water between the late 1700's and mid 1800's.
The west side of the river was Anwoth Parish and the east side Girthon.
For convenience I have used Gatehouse to mean either.
Thanks again to Stuart Wilson (Stewartry) and especially to two new pals, Margaret and Graham Wright of Gatehouse.
