The memorial has been cleaned in recent years and the fence has been replaced by a dry stane dyke.

Great piece of work, a credit to those responsible.

Does anyone else think there seems to be something missing from the front? Another plaque maybe? It seems odd if it has just been prepared for future conflicts. Any photos of the unveiling to confirm?

That thought occurred to me when I visited, but I don't know what could it be as all the names seem to be there?

unless perhaps there were 5 or 6 names all beginning with Mc, that would fit. Maybe also it was a panel with something other than names.
