LIEUT. PETER B. SCOTT R.S.F. ATTD. 1/7th G.R.
Peter Brydon Scott – age 23 – Lieutenant (198199) Royal Scots Fusiliers attached to the 1st Battalion of the 7th Gurkha Rifles.
Peter was educated at Newstead House School at Deanstone, Doune, Perthshire before studying textile manufacture at University College, Nottingham. He joined the College Officer Training Corps and was commission from a Cadet to the RSF in July 1941. Peter went out to India in December 1941 and was attached to the Gurkha Rifles but he was killed in an accident. He was buried in Tiddin Military Cemetery but was re-interred in Imphal in February 1947.
Born 1920 in Kingston upon Thames, Middlesex. Son of James Brydon Scott and Violet Irene (Pillans) Scott of Denholm Lodge.
James was the joint managing director of Messrs Peter Scott & Co., hosiery manufacturers.
Died on Active Service on 24 November 1943 and buried in Imphal War Cemetery, India.
Also named on an individual memorial in Denholm Church.


L.A.C. JOHN A. M. TEACHER R.A.F.
John Angus Macdonald Teacher – age 30 – Leading Aircraftman/Untrained Pilot (655829) Royal Air Force.
“Jock” had joined the RAF before the war. He had served in France and had been evacuated from Dunkirk. He was in flight training at RAF Burnaston, near Derby when he lost control of his aircraft over Repton. He bailed out but his parachute failed to open.
Born 1911 in St. George, Edinburgh. Son of the late Donald Macdonald Teacher and of Norah (Moreton) Teacher of Spittal-on-Rule, Roxburghshire. Husband of Irma Millicent (Foster or Henshaw) Teacher who he married in 1938 in Eastbourne, Sussex.
Died on Service on 5 November 1941 and buried in Repton (St. Wystan) Churchyard, Derbyshire.
