The For Sale boards are up at this former church in Arbroath as I hear that in the last months they merged with the West Kirk formerly st Margaret's at Keptie in the town .

The website for the sale shows offers over £115,000 and the church is a B LISTED building so hopefully the war memorial inside to the WW1 and the WW2 one will be in that category for preservation . The West Kirk formerly st Margaret's has several war memorials inside its church from others that they have merged with over the years

Today I went past Knoxs church In ARBROATH and the for sale sign outside now has a sign UNDER OFFER . so what is happening to the WW1 and the WW2 war memorials inside the former church building . I see the church of Scotland in HQ office in EDINBURGH is selling the property of church and church hall .

I note that LIEUTENANT Hugh WARK ; the son of the church Minister of Knox's church , Arbroath is not listed in EITHER BOOK of ROLLS OF HONOUR of Arbroath & District in WW1.

I note that the East Forfarshire Directory & ARBROATH year book 1922 lists
KNOXS UNITED FREE CHURCH with minister THE REV J R WARK ,M.A.
and church members 350

I contacted the head office of the Church of Scotland as the KNOXS CHURCH in Howard Street in Arbroath is in these recent years owned by the Church of Scotland and spoke to the staff member who is involved in the church sale and he told me that the WAR MEMORIALS TRUST are involved in the matter with the WW1 War memorial move to the WEST CHURCH (formerly St Margaret's ) . I forgot to mention the WW1 and WW2 pipe organ in memory of the congregation in both wars going there as well . The organ war memorial does not have any war dead listed ..

He informed me that the church is on Offer now and no longer For Sale
