"Official intimation was received at Kippen on Monday of the death in action of Lance Corporal Robert Chrystal, of the 2nd A. and S.H., son of Wm. Chrystal, Kippen. Lance Corporal Chrystal was only 17 years of age when he joined in Seppteber 1914. He went to France in January, and before enlisting was employed as a farm hand at Stewiebank and Angus-step. His brothers are in the fighting line in France, and at the Dardanelles."
