There are several ornate rolls of honour on the forum which all seem to have come from the same printer. They are also found in churches. There seem to be two versions.

In the Clunie thread a name was found.

Banks & Co Ltd

There are several other copies of this doing the rounds. Could we try and compile a list here?

Banks & Co Ltd have long gone:

http://archiveshub.ac.uk/data/gb1127bks

Only their brewery printing records seem to remain.

Banks & Co Ltd, a firm of engravers and printers, was situated at 12 George Street, Edinburgh, Scotland, by at least 1929, they later expanded to occupy 53 George Street, this taking place by 1968. Their detailed history is unknown except that they produced beer, wines, spirits and tea labels. By 1971 they were based at the Grange Printing Works, 15 A Causwayside, Edinburgh. The company became defunct on 6 December 1982.

Some of this is taken from a Church of Scotland Rolls of Honour thread we already have

http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=1547

but I want this to be specifically Banks & Co Ltd Rolls.

Adam

I believe there is also one in Strathaven Church but we don't have it on the forum.

Thanks

Several of this type in Berwickshire.

Also at Longformacus Parish Church (now in Village Hall):

and similar design at Fogo.

Possibly more.

Don't know the manufacturer, but are there others of this style?

Merseman

No, that one looks like it was a one-off for Preston, probably made by someone in the village.

The others are all the two designs by Banks & Co either balck and white or coloured.

Thanks
