Born 17th November 1893 Died 21st December 1993
An Arthurian figure, knighted on the field of battle, inheriting
the baronetcy of his illustrious forebearss, mad a member of
the distinguished service order, whose calmness in war was an
inspiration to all who served under him, but who in peac
became a gentle cultivator and a good friend and helper to
many. He surely was Chaucer's "verray parfit gentil knight"
Erected by members of the Burma Star Association who served
unde his command during the campaign in Burma 1943 - 1945
