J M CRAM is listed on the Saskatchewan Virtual War Memorial at
http://www.svwm.ca/casualty_display.php?ID=A000001256

an extract reads:
Cram was the instructor on a training flight with Lt Singleton when their plane failed to come out of a planned spin and crashed at Armour Heights. He was the son of John Mitchell and Jessie Baillie Cram, farmers of Glendevon, Perth & Kinross, Scotland. John Jr. was a teller with the Canadian Bank of Commerce at Briercrest when he enlisted at Moose Jaw late in 1916, leaving a wife Mida Marguerite at Regina (they were apparently married after he enlisted).

Good info Ken,

It was the "Canada" after his name on the memorial that scuppered my searches, he isn't listed as a Canadian on CWGC which is what i was searching for.

Jim McGinlay seems to have found a Gowanlock Family stone in Cathcart Cemetery. He hasn't got round to posting the photo.

Apparently the stone in Cathcart lists James (Tait) Gowanlock and his brother - Walter Gowanlock, both of them being in the Cameronians.

See (Page 17) http://scottishwargraves.phpbbweb.com/viewtopic.php?t=263&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=gowanlock&start=240&mforum=scottishwargraves

There is an even more detailed history of John Mitchell Cram at:
http://www.treesbydan.com/p239.htm#i7553

This also confirms that the Major Robert Cram listed on the Glendevon Roll of Honour (see Anne's post) is his brother.
