This man is not commemorated by either CWGC or SNWM. His old school does commemorate him though.

General Sir B. Duff, G.C.B., G.C.S.I., K.C.V.O., C.I.E.

He was General Sir Beauchamp Duff and between March 1914 and October 1916 he was the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army.

After the surrender of Imperial forces at Kut-el-Amara Duff was one of the heads to roll.

He never recovered from his sacking, or the results of a commission on the surrender and committed suicide in London on 20th January 1918.

He was born in Turriff on 17th February 1855. His son and his nephew also died in the war but are not listed here.
