From the 2nd of June 1951 Glasgow Herald.
The W.V.S. roll of honour which contins the names and citations of 241 members killed in Britain during the second world war, will be displayed in the next two weeks in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Paisley.
Inscribed on vellum and bound in red morocco leather, the roll, which took three years to complete, was designed by Miss Claire Evans a member of the organisation and a founder member of the society of scribes and illuminators.
It has already been on view in England and its permanent resting place will be Westminster Abbey.
The names of three Scotwomen are recorded -
Mary Piggot McCartney, A.R.P. worker, Greenock,
Isabella Muirhead Hunter, First Aid Post, worker, Paisley,
Agnes Cormie Lochhead, telephonist at a First Aid post, Paisley.
