Not yet listed on UKNIWM

Location outside Castle Douglas Public Library at OS Map Ref NX 7661 6252 (by GPS).

This memorial was unveiled at 12:30 today, 16th May 2010 being the 70th anniversary of Patrick Gifford's death.

Patrick Gifford is acknowledged at shooting down the first German aircraft of WW2 over UK soil.

This was entered onto the WMR (ex UKNIWM) as memorial 69507 on 26th October 2015, with a very minor amendment by me today (to add references and a tiny date change arising from an internal WMR software glitch)
