St. Quivox Old Parish Church, Auchincruive.
East Ayrshire, KA6.

Location: In the hamlet of Auchincruive on the B7035 about a mile S.E. of the junction wwith the A719.

Memorials are brass plaques mounted on walls inside church.

This man RUSSELL D. ARGYLL & SUTHERLAND HIGHLANDERS PRIVATE is also on the St Quivox memorial and possibly on the Dreghorn Civic Memorial.

On 21st September 1944 the Hofuku Maru transport ship containing 1289 Allied prisoners of war from Manila to Japan was attacked by an American aircraft carrier about 80 miles north of Corregidor, 1047 were lost including David Russell.
