Ferniegair is a small hamlet which is located 1 mile (1 km) south of Hamilton and 2 miles (3 km) north west of Larkhall in South Lanarkshire Council Area. Nearby sits Chatelherault Country Park and Hunting Lodge and also Cadzow Castle.

Apologies if these name panels are difficult to read. Cold wet day and shiny marble do not go well together.

David just thought I would add a pic, its not much better than yours but is slightly brighter so you can see the sculpture a little better. When I was photographing this memorial a local told me that it was essentially kit built. The local miners who formed the memorial committee simply ordered the monumental masons to deliver the monument in its various parts and then they built it themeselves.
