The following text is part of a small display in Motherwell Heritage Centre on the First world War. The plaque is next to the information display, so I can only assume (since there is nothing next ot the plaque to indicate its original location) that it came from Dalzell House.

"Dalzell House in Motherwell operated as an Auxiliary Red Cross Hospital from September 1914 to March 1919. Initially the hospital had 14 beds but later expanded to over 40 as the casualties increased. The hospital catered for medical and surgical cases, most of whom were convalescing. Altogether over 1,000 patients passed through Dalzell before returning to the front lines"

Dalzell House still stands today and has been converted to private residences. However, the grounds are open to the public.

I'm not sure of the current location of this plaque as I believe the exhibition it was in has now closed.
