from my 1984 notes, 9 names WW1, 2 from WW2.

Insh is on the B rd parallel with the A9.

3 districts commemorated: Feshie, Killiehuntly and Balnaspick.

John

There are two roads running parallel to the A9 at this point, the B970 which runs through Insh and the B9152 (the old A9) which runs through Kincraig.

If you look at a map I wouldn't be surprised if some of the names on the Insch memorial for Balnespick and Feshiebridge are also on the Kincraig memorial.

Regards

Adam

Thanks to Google Maps the location of the Insh War Memorial can be confirmed. It is on the B970 here:

I took a wee detour past this memorial today. It looks like this memorial was erected after the Second World War given the inscription. I would perhaps date it to around 1968 when the church behind it was renovated.

These names are also on the Alvie, Kincraig War Memorial

http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=1088

And the memorial in Alvie and Insh Parish Church.

I think the number after the name is the age.

The first man named is also buried in the local cemetery. See here

BURGESS, A J
Nationality: Indian
Rank: Captain
Regiment/Service: Indian Ordnance Department
Date of Death: 03/05/1919
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: East of Church.
Cemetery: INSH (ST. EUNAN) CHURCHYARD

He died in Woolwich.
