Are those Cameronian and HLI badges inscribed on either side of the 52nd insignia?
I know I'm being a bit parochial but where's the KOSB badge?
(or indeed the RSF who were in 156th Brigade)

Also the presentation date of 27 October 1944 doesn't make sense Confused

Yes, Cameronians and HLI. A strange choice, since 156th Brigade in late 1944 was composed of 4/5th Bn Royal Scots Fusiliers and 6th Bn and 7th Bn Cameronians.

It does say the memorial is to all the 52nd Division though and the Cameronians and Highland Light Infantry both had strong links to Lanarkshire.

The plaque on the right is dated 1989 so the rest of it must post-date that. Perhaps 1994?

Adam - thanks for the badge IDs; and the 1994 date would make some sense.
It goes with the line "Although it has been many years"
