This Memorial sits on the Main Street in Slamannan.
Erected by the Tennantry and Inhabitants of Slamannan and neighbourhood
In memory of the Patriotic Devotion of
George Ralston Peddie Waddell
Only son of Mr. & Mrs. Peddie Waddell of Balquhatstone
Who volunteered for active service in South Africa
With the Lothians & Berwickshire Imperial Yeomanry
And after the hardships of a year's campaign
Died at Germiston, Transvaal on 8th February 1901 aged 26 years
Amiable, generous, esteemed by all, he freely gave his services and life
In the cause of the country that he loved.

I don't know whether this Plaque should be included. It's part of the Waddell Family Enclosure in Slamannan Kirkyard, so technically it's a gravestone.
I know and agree about the gravestone issue, that we should leave it to 'others' so if it's no-go, perhaps one of the administrators could simply delete it? (I won't go in the huff - honest!)

He's buried in South Africa so I'd call this a memorial and not a gravestone.
