Highland Railway Company Great War Memorial
Location: Station Square
Os Ref: NH 667 454
I had to ask some surly Russians to move to get this photo. They wanted to move back into position in front of it so I couldn't get close ups. I have transcribed it though

From 'The Scotsman' - Monday, 8th August 1921, page 6
Inverness
A bronze memorial bearing the names of 87 employees of the Highland Railway Company who gave their lives in the war was unveiled by General Lord Home at Inverness on Saturday in presence of a large gathering.
The tablet is affixed to the wall of the head offices of the Company facing the station square. Mr Cox of Snaigow, chairman of the Highland Company, presided. The directors and others present including Lord Lovat, Sir Hector Munro, Bart.; Mr Albert Pullar, Mr Fletcher of Rosehaugh, Major Mackinnon, Provost Macdonald, Sheriff Watt, General Macfarlane, Mr Gregor Dixon and Mr Robert Park general manager.
General Lord Home was received with the general salute by the guard of honour of the Cameron Highlanders and their pipe band. The Chairman said the memorial had been subscribed for by the directors, officers, and fellow workmen of those whose names were inscribed on the tablet and all had given willingly to honour those brave men's memory.
The railway company had sent 756 of their 3000 employees to the war, and the names of 87 were written in the tablet just unveiled. It was a grand record. A prayer of dedication was offered by the Rev. Donald Macleod, M.C. |

This man, also listed on the Aberfeldy war memorial, doesn't seem to be listed on this memorial
