Derek,

What's the wee Church behind the memorial called?

Is it by any chance Roberton United Free Church?

If so, it houses 2 Memorial Windows.
1 to 4 Parishioners
1 to the nephew of Mr. R. D. MacGregor who was killed at the Somme. (Scotsman Article 13th January 1921 - will send you a copy if you want)

Note that the two Second World War names are both RAF and died within two weeks of each other.

On Dunlop's aircraft another Scot called Dunlop (also a Pilot Officer) was killed in his aircraft's crash.

Those killed are buried in Ecorcei Churchyard, close to the grave of a New Zealand Spitfire pilot, shot down while operating with 485 Sqdn from Biggin Hill 16Sep43, and seven airmen from 138 Sqdn killed on operations Aug43.
