Located in St Andrews Church, Mount Stewart Street, Carluke.

"In memory of Colonel James Stevenson C.B. of Braidwood. Eldest son of Nathaniel Stevenson esq., died Kirkton House 6th November 1926, aged 88 years.

Was Captain XII Royal Lancers, Commanded IX L.R.V. 1872-1908.
Hon. Col. VIII H.L.I. A.D.C. to H.M. Queen Victoria, Edward VII and George V.
J.P. Commsr. of Supply
Convenor Standing Joint Committee and Member C.C.Co. Lanark.

Universally respected and deeply regretted."
